Who We Are
The Orchard began with a vision in 2017.
While visiting Oconee County, Pastor Nathan and his wife Sarah felt God stir their hearts with a promise that one day this place would become home and a great harvest would come. Though life and ministry took them across the country, from Minnesota to North Carolina to Florida, that vision never left their hearts.
Years later, after much prayer and seeking God’s direction, the Lord began confirming it was time to return. Through a series of unmistakable moments, words of confirmation, divine connections, and unexpected provision, God made it clear that He was calling them not just to pastor a church, but to plant one. When the opportunity came to replant a church in Westminster, everything fell into place.
Today that vision is becoming reality as The Orchard is planted.
A place where people are Planted in Christ, Growing Together, and Bearing Fruit for the Kingdom of God.
Welcome to The Orchard.
What We Believe
At The Orchard, our beliefs are rooted firmly in the unchanging truth of God’s Word while being lived out in a way that speaks to today’s world. We are a church committed to the authority of Scripture, the gospel of Jesus Christ, and the call to live faithfully in every season of life. While our worship is expressed through modern music and engaging gatherings, our doctrine remains anchored in historic, biblical Christianity. The following statement reflects the core convictions that guide our teaching, shape our community, and define who we are as a church.
-
We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God, fully sufficient for teaching, reproof, correction, and training in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
-
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is sovereign, holy, loving, and just (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19).
-
We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, atoning death on the cross, bodily resurrection, ascension to heaven, and imminent return in power and glory (John 1:1-14; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4).
-
We believe the Holy Spirit indwells every believer, empowering them for godly living, service, and witness, and guiding them into all truth (John 14:16-17; Acts 1:8).
-
We believe that salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone, apart from works, and that every believer is called to a life of obedience and holy living (Ephesians 2:8-10; Romans 10:9-10).
-
We believe the Church is the body of Christ, called to worship, fellowship, discipleship, and mission. We celebrate baptism and the Lord’s Supper as ordinances of obedience and remembrance (1 Corinthians 12:12-27; Acts 2:42-47).
-
We believe that God has ordained marriage as a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman. Marriage reflects Christ’s relationship with the Church and is the foundation of family and society (Genesis 2:24; Ephesians 5:22-33).
-
We believe that God calls all believers to live according to His Word, pursuing love, integrity, purity, and service, while being salt and light in the world (Romans 12:1-2; Matthew 5:13-16).
-
We believe in the personal, visible return of Jesus Christ, the resurrection of the dead, and the eternal reward of the righteous and the punishment of the unrighteous (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 20:11-15).
-
We believe worship is a lifestyle of honoring God, expressed through both heartfelt devotion and modern, Spirit-led music, drawing people into authentic encounters with Him (Psalm 95:1-7; Colossians 3:16).
-
We believe baptism is an ordinance of the Church and an outward expression of an inward change. It is a public declaration of faith in Jesus Christ and symbolizes His death, burial, and resurrection. We practice believer’s baptism by immersion, in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:3-4).
